Audrey Thorne, M.Ed.
Founder & President of Wonked
President of the Literature & College Divisions
Thorne grew up assisting in her mother’s self-contained, special education K-5 classroom. Thorne graduated with a B.A. in English with Honors from Harvard University in 2019. She then became a Harvard Teacher Fellow, pursuing her Masters in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) while teaching Middle School English in East Harlem. She graduated from HGSE with a M.Ed. in 7-12th grade ELA Instruction and a 3.95 GPA in 2020. With oversight from Harvard, she created the educational podcast Lights Camera Analysis, which has ranked in the Top 100 Educational Podcasts for Kids by Apple Podcasts in 11 countries, including the United States, the UK, and Canada. Post-grad, Thorne obtained her teaching license in both Massachusetts and New York and began teaching in Brooklyn. In the last 3 years teaching in Brooklyn, Thorne’s 8th grade students have consistently ranked Top 3 in the Achievement First (AF) network in metrics for 8th grade ELA performance and growth. In 2021 Thorne was selected as a Leader Fellow for AF, developing and testing a socio-emotional advisory program to guide the student creation of self-regulation tool kits, which had promising results. In 2022 Thorne was selected as a Curriculum Fellow for AF and joined the Teen Ink Teacher Advisory Board. Thorne has also served as an assistant teacher for a HGSE course for first-year teachers and a curriculum writer, tutor, and/or mentor at numerous tutoring firms, including Beson, InAmerica Education, and RichOwl. In addition, Thorne is also an author whose novel, Undateable Rinn Davidson, topped the Most Read charts at Stori for 4 consecutive months. Thorne has also placed over 100 pieces with publications including The Harvard Crimson, Tinder: Swipe Life, East of the Web, Harvard Teacher Fellows Blog, Her Campus, Crimson Crave, Teen Ink, & Tuesday Magazine.

Sarah Medve, M.Ed. & B.B.A.
Founder & President of the Math Division
Medve began her teaching career with Teach for America in Indianapolis, Indiana where she taught 8th grade Mathematics and was the Middle School Lead and Math Department Chair. She was a Policy Fellow with Teach Plus where she engaged in research and advocacy for proposed education policy change. Medve was named Teacher of the Year for Thomas Carr Howe High School in 2020. Since then, she has served as an eighth-grade Algebra teacher and Grade-Level Chair at Achievement First East New York Middle School in Brooklyn. In 2022, Medve’s students achieved an 81% passing rate on the Regents Exam, a rate 24% above the network high school average. Medve earned her B.B.A. in Business Management from James Madison University and an M.Ed. from Marian University.

Katherine Wynkoop, M.Ed.
Founder & President of History Division
Wynkoop graduated from Wake Forest University with a double major in Economics and History. After working in Publishing and Advertising for 8 years, Wynkoop decided to pursue a more fulfilling career path to become a Social Studies teacher. Wynkoop graduated from Hunter College with a 4.0 to receive her Masters in 7-12th grade Social Studies Education. As a teacher and tutor with experience in Middle School and High School, Wynkoop has provided her students with historical thinking and writing skills in order to help students become passive learners of history to active learners of history, creating engaging lessons and units that not only are interesting, but connect to students life so that historical concepts are not just memorized, but truly understood and critically discussed.

Pablo Galvez, M.Ed.
Founder & President of Science Division
Galvez has served as a high-impact, Science and Robotics classroom teacher for 11 years. Galvez was rated a Master-level Science teacher by Achievement First in 2022. He integrates technology into the classroom as an instructional tool to help students engage in the lesson.

Rivka Rappoport, M.Ed.
English & College Instructor
Rappoport graduated from Columbia University with Honors in Film Studies in 2015, and earned a Masters in Education focusing on grades 5 through 8 instruction. She has taught a variety of grades and subjects including 5th grade History, 6th and 7th grade Writing and Literature. In addition, she has worked with students in 5th through 8th grade to build reading and fluency skills, resulting in an average of two years of growth in one years’ time. Rappoport’s 7th grade students have consistently performed at the top of the Achievement First network on both internal and external assessments in both growth and absolute performance. Over the last three years, Rappoport has worked as Writing Associate Dean, working to codify the principles of strong writing and raise the level of writing achievement both within and outside of ELA classes. Outside of her work as a teacher, Rappoport has written a produced, feature length screenplay and been published in several publications including the Columbia Spectator and the Journal of Film Studies.
